Applying and moving instructions

 

Applying for a rental home 

When you are looking for a rental apartment in Seinäjoki, please fill in the online application form or the printable application form. You are also most welcome to visit us at the Sevas office. You do not need to book an appointment beforehand.

 

Fill in the rental home application form and send it to us with the required attachments and certificates. We accept applications at all times. Please remember to keep the information on your application up to date. Applicants should inform us of any changes in their family, income and living conditions.

 

Our rental homes are supported by the government/society, and the eligibility of applicants is taken into account.

 

We will contact you when a suitable home is found for you. You will have a few days to decide whether to move into the apartment or not. If you decide to move in, we will go through the contractual matters, like rental deposit and rental agreement.

You can extend the validity period of your application and keep in contact with us by using the vuokraus@sevas.fi email address.

 

Please download the application form to your own computer first. After that, open the form, fill it in and send it to us by clicking on the Lähetä/Send button.

Rental deposit

As a guarantee of fulfilling the terms of tenancy, all tenants are required to place a rental deposit (fee or personal guarantee). If you have a bad credit rating, the rental deposit may be larger.

 

Guarantee fee 

The amount of the fee depends on the size of the apartment.

Student apartment guarantee fee for a studio apartment is 400 euros and for a family apartment it is 600 euros.

The gurantee fee is kept in Sevas' bank account for the duration of the whole tenancy. The deposit fee will be returned to the tenant when the tenancy has ended, if the tenant has fulfilled all obligations and if the apartment is handed over cleaned and in normal condition with all keys. The landlord has the right to keep all those receivables arising from the terms of the rental agreement. 

 

Personal guarantee 

The tenant will provide us with a guarantee commitment signed by two (2) persons who are in full-time employment. The guarantee commitment should be given one week prior to the signing of the rental agreement. For further information, please contact us at the Sevas office.

Housing benefits

People on a low-income can live in good quality homes by applying for state-funded housing benefit from Kela (The Social Insurance Institution).

Moving out

 

Termination of an apartment 

Termination of renting an apartment should be made in writing.  A notice time of one month must be given. The notice time is calculated from the last day of the month when the notice is given.

 

You should use Sevas' termination application form. All the names of the people, who have signed the rental agreement should be on the notification. Please remember to include your contact information and to sign the notification.

 

When filling in the notice form, please remember to include your bank account details in IBAN form. We can only return the rental deposit to IBAN accounts.

When moving out

When you move out of the apartment, please remember to send the change of address notification to the Local Register Office (Maistraatti) and the Post Office (Posti).

 

The apartment must be cleaned thoroughly. Pay special attention to the kitchen, toilet and bathroom/sauna. Please, also remember to defrost the refrigerator and freezer, and leave their doors open.

 

If Sevas needs to clean an apartment, then the tenant will be charged with all expenses incurred. Please also remember to empty and clean all storage spaces. It is important that you do not leave any items behind in storage areas or in other common areas in the house.
